The City has received a Site Plan Control application from Claridge Homes for a development at 5331 Fernbank Road, a 3.68 hectare vacant site along the east side of Terry Fox between Cope and Fernbank (across from the Wal-Mart Supercentre). The developer is looking to construct a planned unit development (PUD) consisting of 16 three-storey low-rise apartment buildings with 12 units each. This development is in Kanata South, just on the other side of the boundary with Stittsville.

The site is zoned GM (General Mixed Use), which permits low-rise apartment buildings. The site plan includes 268 vehicle parking spaces (230 for residents and 38 for visitors), 96 bicycle parking spaces, pathways and landscaped open spaces between the buildings, and a private park block. There will be two vehicle accesses: one on Terry Fox and one on Cope.

More information about the proposal is available on the City’s DevApps site…
