The City is seeking your input regarding the proposed design for the Idylea Linear Park recreational pathway located along the western edge of the Idylea Community.
The linear park was recently increased in width from 6 metres to 12 metres to allow for the retention of more trees. The pathway itself will be 2 metres wide and made of stone dust material. The location of the pathway has been determined by both grade changes and tree locations, to retain as many existing trees as possible. The linear park will comply with the City of Ottawa Accessibility Design Standards. (Additional tree planting will be determined at a later date.)

The first phase of the pathway (south section from Fernbank Road to Samuel Mann Avenue) may be built in the fall of 2025 continuing into 2026. The second phase (north section to Evelyn) will be built in coming years dependent on the timing of construction of the later phases of the Idylea community.
The linear park is currently in the design phase and residents are invited to share comments on the proposed design by completing a survey on Engage Ottawa. Your feedback is important in shaping the future of this linear park. You can also send comments and questions to Councillor Glen at glen.gower@ottawa.ca.

Parc linéaire Idylea : Aménagement proposé du sentier
La Ville cherche à obtenir vos commentaires sur l’aménagement proposé d’un sentier récréatif du parc linéaire Idylea, sur la limite ouest du lotissement Idylea.
La largeur de ce parc linéaire a été augmentée pour passer de 6 mètres à 12 mètres, permettant ainsi la conservation d’un plus grand nombre d’arbres. D’une largeur de 2 mètres, le sentier sera recouvert de poussière de pierre. Il convient de noter que son emplacement a été déterminé en fonction des dénivellations et de l’emplacement des arbres dans le but de conserver le plus grand nombre d’arbres possibles. Le parc linéaire sera conforme aux normes d’accessibilité de la Ville d’Ottawa. (D’autres plantations d’arbres seront planifiées à une date ultérieure.)

La première phase du sentier (section sud) du chemin Fernbank à l’avenue Samuel Mann, pourrait être construite à l’automne 2025 et se poursuivre en 2026. La deuxième phase (section nord jusqu’à Evelyn) sera construite au cours des prochaines années, selon le calendrier de construction des phases de la communauté d’Idylea qui aura lieu plus tard.
Le parc linéaire est actuellement à l’étape de la conception et les résidents sont invités à faire part de leurs commentaires sur l’aménagement proposé en répondant à un sondage sur le site de Participons Ottawa. Vos commentaires sont importants pour façonner l’avenir de ce parc linéaire.
