The City has received a Site Plan Control application for 5705 Hazeldean Road. That’s at the Shoppes of Fairwinds retail area at the northeast corner of Hazeldean Road and Huntmar Drive.
The applicant wants to add more commercial space near the Food Basics and Toys R Us, and a building towards the middle of the site. There’s already an approved master plan for the retail development, but the applicant needs permission to make changes to that plan to allow for Phase 4 of construction. (The changes are allowed under the current zoning.)
The property owner, North American Group, wants to add three buildings in Phase 4:
- Pad “B”, the highlighted area at the bottom of the map above. It would be developed as a free-standing multi-tenant building.
- Box “D”, highlighted in the upper-right of the map, a single-use building connected to the existing Toys R Us building.
- CRU “B-2”, highlighted in the upper-left of the map would be a multi-tenant building connected to the existing commercial strip mall, a change from the already-approved master plan.
A permanent sidewalk would be built connecting to an existing pathway onto Gallantry Way.
More information about the proposal is available on the City’s DevApps site.
