Stittsville’s annual Parade of Lights takes place December 1, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
Organized by the Stittsville Village Association, the parade draws thousands of spectators to Stittsville Main Street. Each year, dozens of beautifully decorated community floats set the tone for Santa’s much anticipated arrival at the end of the parade.
The parade will proceed along its usual route south on Stittsville Main Street, from just south of Hazeldean Road to Carleton Cathcart Street. There is no fee to register, however all participants are asked to consider a donation to the Stittsville Village Association to help us continue bringing events like the parade to the community.
Stittsville Main Street will be closed from approximately 5:45pm-8:00pm between Hazeldean Road and the Carleton Cathcart (near the library).
Afterwards, you can gather for the tree lighting at Village Square Park, check out the new Christmas Market (5 pm to 9 pm), and share in some hot chocolate, cookies, and a visit with Santa. In the spirit of the season, the Lions Club will be collecting donations for the Stittsville Food Bank, and volunteers from the Stocking Project will be collecting new gift items for families in our community.
