February 1-28: Goulbourn’s Musical Talent: Past and Present (photo display)
In celebration of Heritage Month, the Goulbourn Township Historical Society, will host a special photo display highlighting the rich musical history of Goulbourn. Goulbourn’s Musical Talent: Past and Present brings together images of local music artists and performers who have contributed to the community’s cultural life over generations. The display showcases a wide range of musical expression, from early community musicians and performers of years gone by to more recent artists who continue to shape Goulbourn’s musical landscape today. Through photographs, visitors are invited to discover familiar faces, forgotten names, and moments that capture the importance of music in community gatherings, celebrations, and everyday life. These photos will be on display at the Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, 1637 Stittsville Main Street during regular library hours.

February 22: Kanata Chinese Seniors Support Centre 2026 Lunar New Year Celebration
The Lunar New Year, the most important traditional festival in Chinese culture, embodies renewal, reunion, blessings, and cultural heritage. It is both a joyful celebration and a time of profound significance for our community. We would be honoured to have you join us in celebrating this meaningful occasion. February 22: Stittsville Sunday Knitting
Join the friendly drop-in knitting program at the Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, 1637 Stittsville Main Street, in a relaxed space for adults of all skill levels to knit, learn, and connect. Bring along your current project, start something new, or simply enjoy the company of fellow knitters. A skilled library staff member will be on hand to offer guidance and help troubleshoot tricky patterns. Crochet, needlework, and cross-stitch are also welcome! February 23: Stittsville Spice Club – Allspice
In this session, we will explore the Allspice’s origin, share recipes, and exchange personal stories or cultural connections. Participants will receive a small sample (about 1-2 tablespoons) to try in your own kitchen. Join us for flavourful conversation and a chance to spice up your cooking! Registration required. February 25: Free Hearing Clinic
The West Ottawa Community Resource Center is hosting a free hearing clinic at their Center at 2 MacNeil Court in Kanata.  The Clinic will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is open to persons 55 years of age and older. February 26: Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt Day aims to raise awareness of bullying by wearing a pink shirt.  According to Canadian Institutes of Health Research, about 1 in 3 students in Canada have reported being bullied. February 28: Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser for Lionhearts
We invite you to join team “Councillor Glen & Friends” in support of Lionhearts Inc. Ottawa at the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser on Saturday, February 28 in Stittsville. Lionhearts Inc., is an incredible Stittsville-based organization focused on food recovery and food security. They provide food to the Stittsville Food Bank, emergency shelters, and organizations across the city that serve low-income residents. More info…

March 7: Amelia Derk Puzzle Competition Fundraiser
Join us at a local fundraiser and have fun at the same time, at the Johnny Leroux Arena, 10 Warner Colpitts Lane, to help send local athlete Amelia to the F-Class World Championship in Bisley UK in August. Amelia is one of only 2 female shooters on the Canadian F-Open Team and the only one under 25 years of age! Show your support, while piecing together your puzzle, which you get to keep at the end of the competition! March 16-20: Sounds of Ireland
Celebrate Irish culture with a full week of creativity and discovery at the Goulbourn Museum! This event runs trom 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. daily, where children can explore the sights, sounds, and stories of Ireland through fairy tales, mythical creatures, St. Patrick’s Day crafts, lively music, Irish dance, rag dolls, and sparkling illuminated letters. This interactive program is designed for children aged 4–11 and runs at $5 per day.

March 25: Stittsville Friendship Club Luncheon
The Stittsville Friendship Club will be hosting their luncheon at the Lions Club, 1339 Stittsville Main Street at 2:00 p.m. (doors open at 11:00 a.m.). The menu includes pork tenderloin, mixed vegetables, salad and more! Entertainment will be provided by Lauren Hall. Cost is $25.00 for non-member and $20.00 for members payable by cash at the door. March 26: BOH Engagement Session: Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Hosted by our office, this Board of Health engagement session is a must-attend event. They will highlight key HEDI principles and initiatives and offer community members a valuable opportunity to learn more about how health equity and inclusion are being advanced locally. The Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville will be presenting their Winter Film Series throughout the next few months. Series Pass costs $60.00 with all 4 films being screened at Landmark Cinemas, 801 Kanata Avenue. Every Saturday: Stittsville Parkrun (depending on the weather & trail conditions)
The “Ottawa-Carleton Trailway” parkrun starts on the Trans Canada Trail by the dog park pathway entrance near Shea and Granite Ridge, and will run along Robert Grant to Bobolink and back. There are no road crossings on the route. This is a 5km run suitable for all ability levels. The event runs every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. For further information, please visit parkrun Canada.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: St. Thomas Clothing Drop-Off
St. Thomas Anglican Church, located at 1619 Stittsville Main, accepts gently used clothing every Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Please do not leave clothing after these hours. They accept clothing with no holes, rips, or pet hair. They will take all sizes, shoes, boots and outerwear. If you would like to volunteer with set-up, sorting or takedown, please call 613-836-5741. Their Next to New Clothing store is only open to recipients of the Stittsville Food Bank.

Mondays until June 8: Creative Writing Program for Teens
This program is hosted by the Stittsville Creative Writing Group and led by an adult group member. Participants, ages 13-17, meet on the second Monday of the month for a series of lectures, activities, and writing exercises.  It’s an extension of the existing adult writing group with the goal of fostering creativity and literacy in the next generation, and inspiring future writers. May 30: Jack’s Gala; Reaching for the Stars
Anna and Richard Laidlaw from Stittsville are parents to three young boys—Jack (8), Scott (6), and Tom (4). They are reaching out in hopes that you will consider supporting their family’s annual fundraising event, Jack’s Gala: Reaching for the Stars, which will take place on May 30th, 2026, at the award-winning Brookstreet Hotel, where they hope to host 400 guests. They are currently seeking sponsors, donations to the live and silent auctions, and for guests to join them for this event, to help the family reach a cure for our son. The event will include live music, guest speakers (including astronaut Dr. Dave Williams!), photobooths, a balloon pop, both live and silent auctions and more!
