January 27: Cook the Cookbook Club
Do you love to cook? The Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library is inviting food enthusiasts to level up their cooking skills over great discussions at the library. Look at new and popular cookbooks together and share recipes. In this session, there will be discussions regarding soups and stews. January 28: Primary Care Health Hub Information Meeting
We’re hosting an information meeting about bringing a primary care health hub to Kanata-Stittsvillle at a site on Maple Grove Road. Similar projects in other municipalities in Ontario have been successful in attracting physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals, allowing them to quickly scale up primary care access in their communities. January 29: Stittsville Friendship Club Luncheon
The Stittsville Friendship Club will host a Luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1481 Stittsville Main Street, at 2:00 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Cory Colbourne from the OtherKrow Band. January 30: Trivia Night
Come support our Stittsville Rams U18-B3 hockey team at a Trivia Night Fundraiser! Shake off the winter blues and enjoy a fun night out with good food, drinks. No need to be a trivia expert – come out for community and entertainment. This event will be held at the Amberwood Lounge and Eatery, 54 Springbrook Drive. St. Thomas Anglican Church is hosting its fundraiser Clothing Sale for the Stittsville Food Bank on January 31 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and February 2 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Cash only, $1 for each item. The church is located at 1619 Stittsville Main St.

February 2: Trailfest
The Stittsville Winter Trail Network is hosting the first annual Trailfest information session on Sunday, February 2, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Main Hall at CARDELREC Centre, 1500 Shea Road. Learn about SWTN’s plan for an integrated winter trail network. Learn how to dress for winter, types of Nordic Skis and how to size and wax them, types of snowshoes and how to size them, and how to maintain your fat bike. Friends of the Stittsville Wetlands, Bushtutak, and Tunes on Wheels will be on hand to educate and answer questions.
February 8: Jamming for Jack
Let’s get together along with local bands to help raise funds to find a cure for SPG4 so that Jack will be able to continue to run and have fun with his younger brothers and friends. Bands will include Afraid of Grace, Countdown to Ear Plugs, Miss Addiction, Red Light Run, Skyler Radmore and The Juice. This event takes place at the Main Street Pub, 1408 Main Street. Jack is a 7-year-old boy who lives in Stittsville with his family. In December 2024 Jack was diagnosed with SPG4, a disease that will slowly paralyze him. There is hope and a cure is currently being researched and can be developed in fewer years if it can be funded. For further information, please visit, Jamming for Jack
February 15: Goulbourn Women of Influence
The Goulbourn Township Historical Society will be recognizing Women of Influence by honouring Goulbourn women who have contributed to our local communities over time. This event will take place in the Grace Thompson Room at the Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, 1637 Stittsville Main Street. There are women which we will celebrate from the fields of education, military, politics, medicine, women’s organizations, and volunteer-based community organizations. March 10-14: March Musical Theatre Workshop
The West End Players offers a March Break Musical Theatre Workshop experience like no other. Throughout the week, participants will be exposed to all aspects of Musical Theatre which will culminate in a showcase for their family and friends! Come ready to dance, sing and act alongside qualified OCT leaders with a wealth of experience in Music, Drama and Dance. Tap into your creativity and make the theatre your March Break destination! May 24: Jack’s Gala: Reaching the Stars
Our community family, the Laidlaw’s, have a son Jack who was diagnosed with SPG4, a disease that is slowly paralyzing him. Jack dreams of being an astronaut and the first person to walk on Mars. They will do anything to save their son, so he can reach for the stars! This event will be held at the Brookstreet Hotel, 525 Legget Drive in Kanata. All proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards supporting research for the SPG4 cure. Please save the date! More details to come!

Every Saturday: Stittsville parkrun
The “Ottawa-Carleton Trailway” park run starts on the Trans Canada Trail right by the dog park pathway entrance near Shea and Granite Ridge and will run along Robert Grant to Bobolink and back. There are no road crossings on the route. This is a 5km run for everyone of all abilities. The event runs every Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. For further information, please visit parkrun Canada
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: St. Thomas Clothing Drop-Off
St. Thomas Anglican Church at 1619 Stittsville Main is accepting gently used clothing every Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please do not leave clothing after these hours. They accept clothing with no holes, rips, or pet hair. They will take all sizes, shoes, boots, and outerwear. If you would like to volunteer with set-up, sorting, and takedown, please call 613-836-5741. Their Next to New Clothing store is only open to Stittsville Food Bank recipients.
