May 1-30: Sylvie Sabourin Photo Exhibition
Be sure to visit the spectacular imagery captured by local photographer, Sylvie Sabourin, at the Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, 1637 Stittsville Main Street. Sylvie was born in France before moving to Canada in the early 1980s. Photography has always been her passion. She captures the wonders of nature, be it in their smallest details or in a more panoramic way. She has exhibited in Canada and in the United States in numerous venues, Her photographs hang in a number of private collections in different provinces of Canada and in France. As a testimony to the beauty of Nature, she has recently published a book titled Emotions that presents a year of the life of Nature on a portion of the TransCanada trail near Stittsville, Ontario.
May 30: A Celebration of South Asian Arts and Culture
Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of South Asian culture at the National Arts Centre, 1 Elgin Street, as Desi Dhamaka returns to the stage with an even bigger celebration of South Asian creativity and community. Enjoy beautiful performances on stage featuring dance and music, experience the colours and energy of South Asian culture, and explore a lively community market showcasing crafts, jewelry, design, and more. Bring your friends and family and join us for an afternoon of art, culture, and connection. This performance will be held in the Peter A. May 30: War Brides; A GTHS Event
Join the Goulbourn Township Historical Society for a special presentation on the remarkable stories of war brides—women who left their homes and families behind to start new lives in Canada after wartime. This engaging event will explore the experiences, challenges, and contributions of these women, whose journeys helped shape communities across the country. May 30: Jack’s Gala; Reaching for the Stars
Anna and Richard Laidlaw from Stittsville are parents to three young boys—Jack (8), Scott (6), and Tom (4). They are reaching out in hopes that you will consider supporting their family’s annual fundraising event, Jack’s Gala: Reaching for the Stars, which will take place on May 30 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Brookstreet Hotel, 525 Legget Drive, Kanata. They are currently seeking sponsors, donations to the live and silent auctions, and for guests to join them for this event, to help the family reach a cure for our son. The event will include live music, guest speakers (including astronaut Dr. Dave Williams!), photobooths, a balloon pop, both live and silent auctions and more! For 41 years, Canadians have come together through the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides to witness journeys unfold — from hope into independence. Every Saturday: Ottawa-Carleton Trailway parkrun (depending on the weather & trail conditions)
The Ottawa-Carleton Trailway parkrun starts on the Trans Canada Trail by the dog park pathway entrance near Shea and Granite Ridge, and will run along Robert Grant to Bobolink and back. There are no road crossings on the route. This is a 5km run suitable for all ability levels. The event runs every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. For further information, please visit parkrun Canada.
Every Wednesday: Euchre @ Stittsville United Church
Enjoy an afternoon of euchre with fun, fellowship and refreshments sponsored by the United Church Women, held each Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall at Stittsville United Church, 6255 Fernbank Road. Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: St. Thomas Clothing Drop-Off
St. Thomas Anglican Church, located at 1619 Stittsville Main, accepts gently used clothing, footwear, bedding and towels every Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. Please do not leave clothing after these hours. They will accept clothing with no holes, rips, or pet hair and take all sizes, shoes, boots and outerwear. If you would like to volunteer with set-up, sorting or takedown, please call 613-836-5741. Please note, Food bank members get first day, and then it is open to the public. All proceeds go to the Stittsville Food Bank.
Mondays until June 8: Creative Writing Program for Teens
This program is hosted by the Stittsville Creative Writing Group at the Stittsville branch of the Ottawa Public Library, 1637 Stittsville Main, and led by an adult group member. Participants, ages 13-17, meet on the second Monday of the month for a series of lectures, activities, and writing exercises. It’s an extension of the existing adult writing group with the goal of fostering creativity and literacy in the next generation, and inspiring future writers. Registration required. June 1- August 31: Lemonade Standemonium
Lemonade Standemonium 2026, is a community- and youth-driven fundraising initiative taking place across Ottawa this summer in support of the Ottawa Cancer Foundation. From June 1 through August 31, residents, families, and community groups are invited to host lemonade stands, with 100% of proceeds directly supporting free programs and services for individuals and families impacted by cancer in our region. This initiative provides an accessible and meaningful opportunity for residents—particularly young people—to engage in community-building while contributing to a cause that affects so many in Ottawa. Ongoing: West Side Pride Vendor Registration
Vendor registration for the 2026 West Side Pride Community Fair is now open! Please fill out the Vendor Application Form to apply for a space in the Community Fair and please also take the time to review the important information for vendors in the Community Fair Handbook including vendor classifications, vendor fee pricings, and the rules and expectations for vendors on site at the event. Both of these can also be found and accessed on this website. This year’s festival will again be at Alexander Grove Park 10 Warner-Colpitts on Saturday, July 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Community Fair is a great opportunity to show your support and solidarity and to engage and promote yourselves with our local 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the local community at large. Last year’s festival was a great success with more than 40 vendors participating!

June 1-30: Let’s Bike Month
Organized by EnviroCentre, Let’s Bike Month encourages people to bike for transportation and track the environmental impact of cycling instead of driving! Whether you already bike everywhere or want to try for the very first time, everyone is welcome to join. Councillor Glen is participating once again this year, and he’s set up a group for Stittsville residents. Go to letsbike.ca to sign up, and join “Team Stittsville”. Logging your bike journeys throughout the month of June gives you the opportunity to win daily prizes donated by local businesses.
June 6-7: Goulbourn Museum Doors Open
Join the folks at the Goulbourn Museum during this year’s Doors Open Ottawa from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a special weekend celebrating local heritage, craftsmanship, and community connection. Talented members of Ottawa Olde Forge Rug Hooking, will be demonstrating the timeless art of traditional rug hooking throughout the weekend. Watch beautiful textile works come to life, learn about the history behind this cherished craft, and connect with the artisans helping keep these traditions alive today. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the rich history of Goulbourn Township through stories, exhibits, and conversations with Museum staff inside the historic Old Town Hall. Whether you are passionate about heritage arts, local history, or simply looking for a meaningful and inspiring outing, we invite you to spend the weekend with us celebrating the creativity and spirit of our community. June 6: Nannipat’s Lemonade Crusade
Everyone’s favourite lemonade stand is back for our 8th year! Having raised over $13,000 for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation since 2019, we hope you will join them once again to help more people! Come out and have some fresh lemonade, lunch from the BBQ and enjoy some time with friends and family while supporting the Ottawa Cancer Foundation. This event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fringewood Park, 38 Woodwind Cresent. The rain date is Saturday June 13. If you can’t make it out, please consider donating here
June 6: Sable Run Community Street Sale
Come out to the Community Street Sale on Sable Run in West Ridge, Stittsville. The sale will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. with a rain date of June 7. This annual Street Sale features tons of collectables, antiques, kitchen decor, books, garden tools, jewelry and clothing. Walk the street and pick up bargains along the way. You name it, you’ll probably find it here!
June 7: Douglas Sutherland’s Stittsville Art in the Park
Village Square Park will come alive on June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Douglas Sutherland’s Stittsville Art in the Park—an energetic, free, one‑day festival that unites our community in a vibrant celebration of creativity. This beloved annual event showcases an eclectic mix of local talent, from emerging young artists to seasoned creators, featuring stunning artwork, photography, handmade crafts, authors, artisans, delicious food trucks, and live youth entertainment. With family‑friendly and pet‑friendly activities, including a growing kids’ talent showcase, colourful street chalk art, expanded space along Abbott Street for artists and picnic seating, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere, the festival draws record crowds each year. It strengthens community connections, supports local businesses, honours Stittsville tradition and founder Douglas Sutherland, and provides an essential platform for creators of all ages to share their craft and shine.
June 9: K9 Summer Social
Have a doggone great time with your canine companions at this year’s summer social hosted by KPlayground! The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 6977 Flewellyn Road in support of “For the Love of Dogs, Ottawa”. There will raffle baskets and even adoptable dogs onsite! June 12: Discover your ward by bike!
A FREE, in-person workshop which will take a small group on a guided bike ride around Stittsville Ward on June 12 at 1pm, leaving from Rouncey Park. Along the way we will stop at different pieces of cycling infrastructure and points of interest and learn all the skills to start planning your own route around your neighbourhood. This ride will cover approximately 5.5km at a slow pace and will make use of a combination of separated cycling infrastructure, on-road cycling infrastructure, and residential streets. The ride route is fairly flat, though there may be some small hills. Participants will need to bring their own bikes and helmets and will be asked to sign a waiver prior to participation. June 20, 2026: Welcome to Stittsville Multicultural Festival
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 20 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Village Square Park (6000 Abbott Street, corner of Abbott and Stittsville Main). The event is free! The festival showcases Stittsville’s diversity, welcoming newcomers, and promoting new connections with residents. Hundreds of people attended the event last year, and we are looking forward to welcoming even more this year! There are dozens of performers, exhibitors, food vendors, and community organizations. June 20: Pollinator Appreciation Day
Come celebrate Pollinator Appreciation Day this year by planting a tree! So many pollinators depend on trees for nectar in the spring to food for caterpillars in the summer and protection in the winter. Stittsville Pathfinder Girl Guides and Venture Scouts – Poole Creek Invasive Species Clean Up and Health Monitoring
This spring, youth and leaders from the Stittsville Pathfinder Girl Guides and Venture Scouts will unite for a hands‑on environmental stewardship day at the Poole Creek Wetland, working together to protect one of the community’s most treasured natural spaces. Guided by expert naturalists from the Ottawa Stewardship Council and the Friends of the Stittsville Wetlands, participants will learn to identify and remove invasive plant species while gaining practical insight into wetland ecology and conservation. Youth will also collect biodiversity data using the iNaturalist platform, contributing meaningful citizen‑science information to help monitor the health of the ecosystem. This immersive experience not only improves habitat quality and supports long‑term ecological resilience but also cultivates environmental leadership, scientific literacy, and a deeper sense of civic responsibility among the next generation of Stittsville community stewards.
