I just did a walk around the neighbourhood to check out the road situation. It’s somewhat better than last night but there are still lots of roads in rough shape. (That’s Kohilo Cres. in the photo.)

If your road looks like this photo please go to http://serviceottawa.ca/ and send in a service request.

Yesterday there were nearly 700 winter-related service requests in our area (Stittsville & Kanata South), including over 400 for drainage/water. City-wide, crews cleared 4,000 drains. In Stittsville, the snow crews will continue to work 24/7 until the clean-up is done. A huge THANK YOU to the truck drivers and admin staff for all their work over the last couple of weeks.

I know that residents are frustrated. Please know that city crews are doing everything they can, with all resources available, to clean up and prepare for the next storm. There is another warm spell, rain, and flash freeze in the forecast in the next 72 hours.

Finally, thank you to all of the residents who have been helping others dig out from the storm, clear drains, dig out fire hydrants, etc. If you can, please check in on your neighbours and lend them a hand if they need help.

You can always reach me & my team at glen.gower@ottawa.ca with any questions or concerns.
