This week I’m visiting the Turcotte Family Christmas at 18 Cypress Gardens in Stittsville, an annual fundraiser for the Stittsville Food Bank.

This week’s updates:

  • Tonight is the Parade of Lights, organized by the Stittsville Village Association. Volunteers from the Lions Club will be collecting donations for the food bank. Plus a tree lighting ceremony, music and market at Village Square Park after the parade.
  • Singers needed for upcoming Christmas singalongs
  • Opening of the Barbara Crook & Dan Greenberg Mental Health Centre at Queensway-Carleton Hospital
  • Stittsville Public Schools’ 75th anniversary
  • City of Ottawa’s housing budget adds over $24-million for affordable housing
  • Multicultural and Human Rights Calendar on my web site at glengower.ca
  • Volunteers needed at community rinks, including Bandmaster Park (Fairwinds) and Trustee M. Curry Park (Hartsmere)
  • Volunteers needed for the new Stittsville Youth Drop-In Centre, organized by Kiwanis of Stittsville-Kanata
  • December 3: Ahmadiyya Muslim community open house at the library
  • December 9: OC Transpo Food Drive
  • Winter parking reminders
