“There is a compelling public interest in the disclosure of the information associated with RTG’s failures to perform and the reasons for the delivery of the Notice of Default in relation to this large infrastructure project. Ottawa transit riders are well aware of, and are directly affected by, the service interruptions and problems with the LRT system. Therefore, in keeping with the City’s transparency and accountability principles, City staff have determined that these recent letters to RTG will be released to the public.”

On Friday, the City Manager released a copy of the “Notice of Default” issued to Rideau Transit Group (RTG), following a Council resolution to escalate action against RTG. The documents outline a long list of RTG’s problems and the City’s expectations on how they will be fixed. I’ve shared them below. RTG now has until March 31 to provide the City with a detailed plan and timelines for how it will correct the issues.

Vendredi, le directeur municipal a publié une copie de l’avis de manquement envoyé à Rideau Transit Group (RTG), à la suite d’une résolution du Conseil visant à prendre des mesures renforcées contre RTG. Les documents comportent une longue liste des problèmes de RTG ainsi que les attentes de la Ville quant à la façon dont ils seront résolus. Je les ai partagés ci-dessous. RTG a maintenant jusqu’au 31 mars pour fournir à la Ville un plan détaillé des moyens qu’il entend prendre pour rectifier les problèmes ainsi qu’un calendrier de mise en œuvre.
