The City’s Stormwater Management Branch will be undertaking rehabilitation work at two Stormwater Management Facilities located in Stittsville: the Echowoods Stormwater Management Facility (123 Echowoods Ave./66 Lloydalex Cres.) and the Timbermere Stormwater Management Facility (1080 Carp Road).
Echowoods
The spillway at the outlet of this facility is being rehabilitated to return it to the approved conditions as per the Environmental Compliance Approval issued by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. This work will include imported rock fill to raise the level of the spillway to the design elevation, as well as some local regrading of the banks of the pond. The work will be carried-out by Doulos Construction Ltd. The construction activities are expected to begin on Monday, Sepember 28, 2020, and the anticipated duration of the work is approximately one (1) week. While construction is underway, the access roadway to the facility will be closed to the public.
Timbermere
The outlet structure at this facility is being modified to improve basement flooding protection for the homes in the Timbermere subdivision. During construction, there may be a need to control water levels in the pond by means of bypass pumping. Aside from the pumping, all other works will be within the underground outlet chamber. The work will be carried-out by Capital Cutting & Coring Ltd. The construction activities are expected to begin on Monday, October 12, 2020, and the anticipated duration of the work is three (3) days, subject to weather. While construction is underway, there may be occasional closures of the pathway (located just south of the Carp Road Animal Hospital at 1054 Carp Road) as the contractor enters and exits the site; however, the pathway should remain open most of the time.
Entretien des bassins de rétention des eaux pluviales d’Echowoods et de Timbermere
La Direction de la gestion des eaux pluviales de la Ville effectuera des travaux de remise en état à deux installations de gestion des eaux pluviales à Stittsville : celle d’Echowoods (123, avenue Echowoods/66, croissant Lloydalex), et celle de Timbermere (1080, chemin Carp).
Echowoods
Les travaux visent à remettre l’évacuateur de crues à la sortie de cette installation en conformité aux conditions prévues dans l’autorisation environnementale qui avait été délivrée par le ministère de l’Environnement, de la Protection de la nature et des Parcs de l’Ontario. Ils impliquent notamment d’élever l’évacuateur de crues jusqu’au niveau initial de conception grâce à un enrochement de matériaux importés, et de remblayer les berges de l’étang avec les matériaux environnants. Les travaux ont été confiés à l’entreprise Doulos Construction Ltd. Ils devraient débuter le lundi 28 septembre 2020 et se poursuivre pendant environ une semaine. Pendant cette période, la voie d’accès à l’installation sera fermée au public.
Timbermere
Les travaux consisteront à modifier la structure de déversement de cette installation de façon à mieux protéger les sous-sols des maisons du lotissement Timbermere des inondations. Durant les travaux, il pourrait être nécessaire de réguler le niveau d’eau du bassin par un pompage de dérivation. À l’exception du pompage, tous les travaux se dérouleront dans la chambre souterraine de déversement. C’est l’entreprise Capital Cutting & Coring Ltd. qui réalisera les travaux. Ceux-ci devraient débuter le lundi 12 octobre 2020 et se poursuivre pendant environ trois jours, si les conditions météorologiques le permettent. Pendant les travaux, le chemin d’accès (juste au sud de l’hôpital vétérinaire du 1054, chemin Carp) pourrait être fermé lors des allées et venues de l’entrepreneur sur le site, mais il devrait rester accessible la majorité du temps.
